Doug worked with Sasaki Walker Associates from 1969-1973, and then with Johns Manville until 1982 as a planner and construction manager for the development of Elkhorn Village.  He went out on his own and established Clemens Associates in 1982.  Over the years, Doug has been instrumental to the development of the Wood River Valley through his planning expertise and the multitude of projects that he has designed and built.  Doug is often sought and consulted for his extensive experience, knowledge, history and wisdom.  He remains active on local design review committees and continues to inspire with his design sense and sharp wit.​
